Inland Seas Summer Festival: Celebrating the Great Lakes

Summer reading program at the Suttons Bay Bingham District Library featuring Carrie Leaureaux, storyteller of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians.

Imagine trekking from the Dune Climb to Glen Arbor to the heart of the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, then finishing the day in Empire – all without stepping foot in a car.

The Suttons Bay Marina is located just east of downtown along Lake Michigan and features Marina Park, a public beach where residents and visitors can sunbathe, swim, and play in the clear waters of Lake Michigan.

A “first of its kind” in the northwest Michigan region LADIES ONLY charity golf tournament – THE PINK CLASSIC will be held Saturday, July 23, 2011 at The Leelanau Club at Bahle Farms in Suttons Bay, MI. All proceeds from this four person golf scramble will go to women’s health and wellness. Registration begins at 12:45pm with a shotgun start at 2:00pm followed by a cocktail scoring party.

Suttons Bay resident and grower Carolyn Faught owns Omena Cut Flowers located on M-22 and Freeland Roads. Omena Cut Flowers has been featured in Midwest Living Magazine and is truly a must see destination in Leelanau County and while visiting Suttons Bay (and perfect for Suttons Bay and surrounding area residents too!).

The Suttons Bay Visitor Center is open Monday through Saturday until 5:00 p.m.
